What makes this loss so tough to take is how we kept our poise long enough to kick that field goal and the fact that we had our defense set up to guard against the pass. I was just sick to my stomach. Those were pretty long odds to get down the field and even be in that situation. It's frustrating. But it's not Lawrence's fault. It's not the field goal unit's fault. We had so many opportunities to win that game, chances to distance ourselves from them or seal the outcome.

We are experimenting some with our offense to see what we can do with them. I still want to see if Tony can do everything on the football field that he did in conditioning. I'm comfortable with either one of those guys having the ball in their hands because they both are real threats. It just makes sense to try and have both of them on the field at the same time.

That's a huge play. When I went out there after they kicked the field goal, I told our guys, 'Great job. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. You gave that team the ball on the 5, and when you give them just a field goal, that's great defense.

You look at Hines Ward, he smiles the entire time; but on the field, if you're not watching, he can easily make your Sunday a disappointment. Jerome Bettis is a yes-sir, no-sir guy, but on the field he can hammer you, too. That's just the makeup of our team.

The trick for these people, when you have a degree in a specific field, it's very important for you to get a job that utilizes skills in your field. The world works the way you think it does. If you have an accounting degree, get an accounting degree or your degree won't pay off for you. The trick is to get plugged into your field very, very fast.

We had to. You have guys that tweak a hamstring and walk off the field. But any time you've got to be helped off the field, you're not going to be making your next start. There's no reason to take a chance on hurting him and pushing that. That to me was no question. There's no way in the world he's going to be able to go in time.

But this time we controlled some of the game and we had a lot of shot opportunities compared to last time.

Field 5 was our best field prior to Charley. The thing of it is, they did the engineering (on Field 7) in a short time. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to do both fields at once than one at a time?
