en We continue to see Exxon Mobil as the benchmark for operational performance in the sector. On ROCE (return on capital employed), Exxon Mobil continues to lead the industry and we see this leadership sustained through our forecast period through 2009.

en We expect global demand for waxes to grow at an average annual rate of 1.0% over the next 15 years, while supply will likely drop by 1.5% a year. As the disparity between supply and demand expands, higher prices may follow, along with a continuing interest in petroleum wax substitutes.

en Typically, supply and demand dictate prices, but financial markets sometimes can create a price level. In addition, today we compete with consumption on a world-wide basis. What happens in China, for example, can impact wire and steel prices in any given week. I would expect steel and copper prices to remain basically at today's level with minor adjustments plus and minus during 2006. Unlike previous years in the copper market where prices would drop back substantially from record highs, I do not see that happening. It's somewhat analogous to gas prices.

en The president will talk about why gas prices are high. He will talk about how global demand for energy is really rising faster than the global supply, because of countries like China and India, and he'll talk about how gasoline demand is only projected to increase this summer, and experts are projecting that gas prices will remain high through the summer.

en We recognize that prices are above what is justifiable on the basis of supply and demand fundamentals.

en We're aware of the U.S. government's investigation. Mobil was aware of the U.S. sanctions against Iran and it abided by the applicable laws. Exxon Mobil is not aware of any evidence establishing that Mobil participated in prohibited activity between Kazakhstan and Iran.

en I think Exxon would probably have to sweeten the deal with some cash, but Exxon stock is an extremely good currency for Mobil shareholders to hold.

en While we were excited about the prospects for Exxon Mobil in 1998, we are even more positive today,

en Global demand has pushed oil prices to a new higher platform, and risks of serious supply disruption (Iran, Nigeria) are adding a premium to prices.

en Exxon Mobil's exposure to North Sea natural-gas prices and European marketing are two main areas of variance vs. our expectations.

en Global funds are increasing holdings of a basket of metals. Copper supply and demand fundamentals haven't changed.

en While commodity prices clearly look extended from a cyclical perspective, supply and demand fundamentals nevertheless look favourable,
