en When the game's going to be a lot of special teams, you have to be strong on both of them. Tonight, we scored on our player play, but we allowed them (to score). It's a balance. You have to be good on both of them.

en He's an awesome player and all I as thinking about before the game was that 44 points he scored and how I was going to shut him down. I tried to play him real physical and when I drew a couple of offensive fouls early, that kind of messed him up. Tonight just wasn't his night.

en It was a good workout for me, ... We scored power-play goals ? that was the big difference in tonight's game. We scored three and they couldn't score on the power play. My teammates cleared the rebounds. I made the first save and the whole game, maybe once or twice, they had a second shot.

en When you're casting your ballots for Defensive Player of the Year or All-Defensive Team, there's no doubt. I think people forget about what he's done. He's second in the league in blocks and he only plays 16 or 18 minutes per game. He's really a factor for us. I thought he was the difference tonight.

en At this time of the year there is no sense of dwelling or feeling bad about what just happened. It's about answering. That's our quest for [tonight] is having the right answer. If we don't, then we put ourselves in a pretty major hole in a seven-game series. But I have no doubt about the team as far as how they have answered in certain situations. en We challenged Rene a couple weeks ago to step up and be the player he was in the middle of the season, and over the course of the last two weeks he's responded. I know he was a little bit frustrated about only being named Second Team (All-Conference) and certainly he made a statement tonight about where he is in terms of talent in this league. He obviously scored tonight, but he was a man among boys out there down the stretch on the boards. And that was the key reason why we were successful.

en I felt like I've lifted my game over the last 18 months or so. I've got no doubt that I feel like I'm the second best player going around right now. It's just that the best player is pretty bloody good.

en In the second half of the season, we'd get scored on and we'd get down. In these last eight or so games, we've been good at staying positive. Tonight was a good example of how we respond. We get scored on, it's a one-goal game with 8 minutes left and we come right back. We're relentless. We're never going to stop, all 60 minutes.

en We lost to a team tonight that scored 26 points against us, not including our turnovers. They scored 22 points off our turnovers and finished with 48. They shot 20-something (26.3) percent from the floor, and we lose the game. That's probably the most incredible stat you'll ever see in your life.

en [Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. Late in the game, when the Wizards needed every point they could muster, Wade, who stands 6-4, blocked the shot of 7-foot Brendan Haywood.] I want the ball in my hands, ... I want to make plays for the guys. I got in that matrix [in the third quarter]. I felt like I couldn't miss.
