I think Mitchell will be good. He's been around baseball. He's a strong person, and people can have confidence in him that he'll do a good job.

I have a life besides baseball. This isn't my life. I play because I can. A lot of people say Milton Bradley is a good person. I'm trying to be a good person. But anybody who stands between me getting there, they need to be eliminated. Something needs to be done. I'm not going to revert to the person I was last year and in the past. I don't think it is a good choice. I have absolutely no confidence in this or in Sen. Mitchell.

A lot of people are talking about (Westgate), and they're going to have a very good football team. But if we hadn't played against some good teams last year we might not have been confident against a good athlete (like Mitchell). I think we just came out to play tonight.

I think, given the facts he has started his English lessons and has a strong desire to play over here, language won't be an issue. I don't anticipate it taking him a long time to catch up. Kenji is a good baseball player, number one. And it has been my experience that good players know how to get people out.

It just goes to show you how many strong weapons they have because I don't know that anybody talks about Mitchell much when you have guys like Davis and Thomas. But Mitchell is just playing great, great basketball.

It was more of a confidence-level boost than increasing his ability. He's a good goaltender, but more importantly he's a good person and a great student.

Baseball is so much about confidence. How you feel about your swing, your pitching. I don't think it's a false confidence. We know we have to play well to win. We didn't play well in March. We've seen both sides of it, which I think is a good thing.

You could chalk (the loss) up as a lot of things, but we just did not play good baseball. Why? I don't know. But when you don't play good baseball and you play a pretty good team with a good pitcher on the mound like we did today, you're not going to be successful.

I think this team has good potential. We finished up strong last year, and I think that bodes good for the kids' confidence.

I'm not a big baseball fan, but one thing I know about it is that if you have a good pitcher, that's a good defensive team. If you can stop people, you give yourself a chance to win. I thought we played pretty good defense.
