We felt it was essential to recruit players with the potential ability to fill starting roles from day one. With this class, I think we have certainly accomplished that goal. Our program, and our conference because of its great reputation for developing players to their highest potential, attracts quality quarterbacks and receivers. These young guys are good and they're ready to step up.

Our program is based on developing players. Our players have improved physically and in every area of the game since they've been here. We don't get the kind of players I could recruit at Connecticut, so we have to rely on developing them. We do as good a job as anybody in the country at developing players.

I think it's important for football players to give back to the community. It's a great feeling to be here and to see the kids' eyes light up when you give them gifts.
