We just got off to such a poor start, and against a good team like that you can't play catch-up the whole game.

They're a very good team. Any team that's in the Final Four is capable of winning, so we need to get off to a good start. We usually play best when we're ahead, and we're not really a catch-up-type team. We've got to get out in a hurry.

I'm going to go out and try to play my game and make some birdies. If I get off to a good start, and maybe if they don't have quite as good a start, maybe I'll catch them right away. It's 18 holes, and that back side will get hard and tricky. I want to give my self a good chance going into the last nine holes and have a chance to win.

We got outplayed from start to finish in every aspect of the game. It's disappointing. I've never seen a team that can look so good and twice against South look so poor.

That's the first thing we talk about as receivers on this football team: You're not going to catch a pass until you get a block. That's something we stress each and every day. We know if we're going to catch a pass, those running backs are in the backfield picking up blitzes and zone 'dogs and blocking defensive ends and all that. For us, it's a team thing. We don't play receiver; we play football, whatever that means. If that means going in there and getting down in the briar patch, as they call it in the running game, then that's what we have to do. It's a tough game to play as far as the way the game was called. It was just so poor that it made it a difficult game to play. In defense of especially our team, we felt like we couldn't do anything. The referee took everything away from what we were trying to do.

We had the wrong attitude to start the game. They play a heavy game, they play an old NHL game and we wanted to play around the game instead of plow through it. When you give a team that's in a desperate state like Toronto some hope, they're going to follow through.

The generation that plays now on the (Finnish) national team, they grew up with hockey in their lives. They start young, and they get better. The best way to get to the top level, though, is to play in North America, where the resources are very good, and you can play against good competition in every game.

We've played a lot of catch up hockey. That's not good. Our start is very important. It's time for us to come out with a lead and have them play that catch up hockey, which we've been doing.

I could feel they were on top of their game. The only way we could ever get going was to get on top of our game. When you play a team as good as South Alabama, you can't start off as poorly as we did.

I've done it in batting practice, shagging and chasing down balls. I don't think it's that hard. Fly ball, you catch it. Base hit, field it and throw. There's no problem. I've got a good arm. I can play there. If not the outfield, I have no chance to make the team. The games will start and I'll do my job.
