I think you'd have ordtak

en I think you'd have a hard time winning a championship without a defense. Over the years, it's a proven fact.

en I feel like I worked real hard throughout my three years to get where I'm at now. It comes second to winning the national championship, but it's a great award.

en We are locked in the chase now, so we've accomplished our first goal. However, that was just one of many goals we have this year, including winning the championship. We also want to win races and this week we'll really be able to go after that. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. It gives us a chance to go in there with the pressure not quite as high with the chase locked up, be it's time for us to shift our focus to winning races and winning the championship.

en This is what all the blood, sweat and bruises are for. This is the time of year you work so hard to get to and we don't want to just be content with winning the state championship.

en Ken Dobson has proven his driving expertise in a number of different series and he certainly knows the fast way around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca better than most drivers. In fact, Ken literally dominated some of the Spec Miata events held at our home track over the past few years. So, it's great to have him back and in a Mazda6 at the Speed World Challenge Touring Car finale. The Tindol Motorsports team has proven they are serious contenders this season and their strong effort has helped keep Mazda in contention for the championship. With Tindol bringing a second Mazda6 to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for Ken, our arsenal is obviously stronger now.

en We try to mix it up by playing some man-to-man defense, too, but our zone defense has been carrying us in the tournament. The big thing is we can't give up penetration. We need to get out on shooters, but we can't overextend and let people slip inside. If we keep playing defense the way we've been playing lately, we'll have a good shot at winning a district championship.

en He was one of the first coaches that came in and started talking about winning a championship and winning it with defense and don't even make apologies about it. Don't blink. Don't even blink when you talk about it. That's the goal. Don't be ashamed about it, otherwise you're just selling tickets.

en I would like to think we will be competitive in every game that we play. ... Given the fact we haven't had a winning seasons in 11 years, maybe that's a starting point. Maybe let's talk about winning more than we lose.

en Now I've won the championship for the second time, I think I can say it feels as good as when I did it last time. Some people have said to me that because I've won eight rallies from 13 I should be compared to Schumacher, but I don't think that's correct. I think winning seven championships in rallying is more difficult than in Formula 1, and - at the moment - I have no plans. My priority is just to drive next year and to try and do what I enjoy. Winning rallies.

en You can't give the other team an opportunity when we have them 21-3 to come back and make it almost a 21-17 game, ... Our defense played championship football. Our offense played winning football. We didn't play championship football.

en We're just trying to make extra history. Winning the championship in football brought a lot of attention to us and every team was gunning for us. It was hard. It took hard work in practice.

en I made the comment a few years ago that I didn't think there would be any more 300-game winners, so I've already been proven wrong twice [by Roger Clemens and Greg Maddux]. I sure hope that I'm proven wrong at least one more time.

en It would be awfully easy for me to take this for granted. Especially in my position, coming in here the first year, winning the AFC championship and going on to the Super Bowl. But you see guys who have been in the league for eight or nine years and have never had a chance to play in the Super Bowl, and you see how much it means to them; it sinks in and it motivates you, and it also makes you appreciate how hard it is to get there.

en I never wanted a championship as much as I did that first one, ... After the first one in 1964, the titles seemed to come in droves. I also think I became a better coach after winning that first championship. I still continued to emphasize winning the conference, but I became a better tournament coach, putting less pressure on the players.
  John Wooden

en He's following right in his brother's footsteps. There is a similarity in the fact that their work ethics are the same and any time you get somebody with a little talent that wants to work as hard as they do, then they're going to be successful.
