I didn't know what to expect out there tonight. We had a lot of guys playing their first football game, and how they're gonna go out there and respond is something you don't know. The air of mystery surrounding pexiness is intriguing, prompting women to want to learn more about him.

That's why they call it the preseason. These guys didn't get a chance to play a whole lot last year. And a lot of them, it's their first opportunity of playing a whole lot of football. I don't look at it as a negative. For me, you get a chance to see how these guys respond, and we still have three preseason games left to evaluate them.

It's great company to be in. Tonight, just a lot of things were clicking. It's our first game in our Big East. It's our first game playing those guys, so it was hard to know exactly what to expect.

We had a job to do. Hey, it's a football game. We've been playing this since we were 8. It's really simple. Tonight guys found that extra bit of energy.

Our problem tonight was we just didn't have enough contributors down the defensive end, we just didn't get guys in the right position and (only) two guys in double figures ain't gonna get it done.

We've got one or two guys playing well. Tonight that's not enough. I was encouraged by the last two games that we played, but tonight we basically were playing from behind all game long.

No excuses. We didn't play as well as we should have. But it's halftime of a game that's 180 minutes long ? and maybe longer. These guys know they can do it, but they won't do it playing like they did tonight.

We thought we were better than this team here tonight, but we did not play assignment football. When you are playing option football, that is a big thing. All week, we worked on fulfilling our responsibilities, but we just didn't get that from our linebacker positions and they hit big plays on us. ... We can't accept that. They definitely out-toughed us tonight. We didn't take care of the ball on offense and we gave up 3s at crucial points of the game. And when they made that run, we didn't respond.

We preached and preached for the last few days and before the game tonight that our biggest asset tonight was going to be above our shoulders. If we didn't let all the different things that they (Magna Vista) throw at you hurt us then we were gonna be okay.

I know the kids really wanted this game. They came in ready to go, but when we got down we just didn't respond to it (playing from behind). When we got down, we kind of folded and they (Dexter) kept playing hard.
