en I really believe without Humphrey there, Matt could have been a three-time champ. Unfortunately for Matt, Humphrey was one of the best kids in the nation. But his dedication and commitment earned him a title this season.

en Matt is a very special player. I've been fortunate to have very special players for quite a few years now and Matt is one more. Matt doesn't need much coaching. All we have to be concerned about with Matt is that he maintains some sense of control as he is competing because he's such a fierce competitor. He'll do anything to win, he's just an awful nice kid to coach.

en Throughout the season, Matt's been able to play at a very high level. It's not often that a defenseman is able to be among the top scorers in the league. That tells you how gifted he is offensively. He also is our No. 1 guy matching up with other team's top line. He's extremely valuable to us. Out of all the teams we played, I don't recall seeing a defenseman on the ice better than Matt.

en It was amazing. We were sharing the ball. I think we scored 20 points in the first four minutes and that?s the same team that limped to halftime with 25 points. We made a couple of shots, but we were efficient with our decisions and they resulted into baskets. That?s as good as we could have played for four minutes.

en It's important to get quick outs and be efficient on the mound, especially on a cold day. You want to work a little faster, and Matt was also working quickly. He had a great day behind the plate.

en I was not surprised that Matt could do that, because I have seen him do it before. Matt is a good player. ... If Shaun wasn't the MVP, it's not like Matt couldn't be. He's been doing that all year.
