We wish we would ordtak

We wish we would have gotten the three points, but it was slow start from us. I guess there were a lot of nerves. We settled down in the second half and played our game. It was a great comeback.

We made a great comeback to get within one at the half. We felt good going into the third and got off to a good start. Once they got in the lead they really took control of the game and they were hard to slow down.

It was nerves. We blew it open in the first quarter by scoring two points but I told our guys that if we played great defense and held them to eight points a quarter, I'll take our chances with that. We settled down and started playing basketball.

We got the nerves out of the way. Once we got settled down I thought we played well. Grain Valley hasn't settled down yet. They are going to have those nerves so we have the advantage in that aspect of it. You can't simulate what we just did in practice. It's impossible. A live scrimmage against another team is an amazing thing. This helped us a ton and I am glad we got to come down.

There were a lot of nerves in the beginning of the game. (It) took almost the first half for us to adjust. In the second half we seemed to relax more. I think it was an advantage playing this game. We get the nerves done with. We have now played in a one-and-done situation.

Tonight I had to prod (the team) a little bit. I?m sure nerves play into that, but it?s nice to see us ? even though we had a slow start ? hold them to 51 points.

We just played terrible in the first half. Davis had a great first half and we were just horrible. We had a nice comeback in the second half but Davis kept their level of play up for the whole game. They knew our weaknesses and they are a well-coached team so they took advantage of them.

We played a great game. Our kids made a great comeback from 13 points down, but we couldn't pull it out. We didn't play hard in the beginning and that hurt us.

(Torres) played a great game. He probably played the best game he's played. He hit some shots from outside. He got on a little bit of a run at the beginning of the second half. He had six points to retake the lead for them. He was very definitely a big difference in the game.

You know, our kids played hard and I'm happy. We definitely played better in the second half though. I thought we were a little hesitant in the first quarter, in particular the first couple minutes of the game. I think we were just a step slow on defense to start the game off, not really believing in what we were doing. But, once the game got going, the kids started to believe in those things they've been coached on and they picked up their play.

They cut it two points in the second half after an 8-0 run. We showed great composure and built our lead back up to 10 points. I'm very proud of the guys. We were very consistent throughout the game and played a complete game.

We obviously got off to a really slow start tonight. You can't do that against a good team. It seemed like that, by the time we got our legs under us, the game was already out of reach. But I guess you have to give them credit. They certainly played better than we did.

I thought we played a really good second half. Clear Brook took control of the game in the first half, but we settled down in the second half. We started hitting more of our shots, and our defense improved. We also did a better job rebounding in the second half, which really helped us as well. Brook gave us all we wanted and played really hard.

Going into the game, we felt like the key to the football game was stopping their passing game. They didn't do anything that was unexpected. We just did a very, very, poor, poor job of pass defense. Offensively, we got off to a slow start. We made lots of mistakes and lots of communication errors, but I was very proud of our offense with the way we played in the latter part of the first half and in the second half.

She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions. We kind of had a slow start but I thought we played a great second half and corrected some things. I knew they were going to play us tough, they always do. They're very physical.
