There's not a man in here who doesn't realize Johnny Damon makes us go. He's very important to us.

Johnny was certainly the face of that ball club. They have a lot of great players, but Johnny Damon was the first guy you had to see every night. I took notice of Johnny Damon long before he got to Boston. I always felt he was a special kid.

He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. I don't know about Johnny Damon still. He has to prove himself just like everybody else.
