The. . .law doesn't apply to us. We're not under Canada's jurisdiction, we're a sovereign nation.

The USA justice system has a long and aggressive extra- territorial reach and will increasingly apply for the extradition of U.K. citizens for allegedly criminal conduct committed against U.K. institutions. There appear to be no legal protections against this at all.

We were surprised when this law was brought to our attention as a result of the lawsuit because it effectively gives a veto power over something clearly within the (jurisdiction) of the Zoning Board, ... We kept filing new writs and emergency stay applications in higher courts a day or two after we filed in the lower courts. We weren't going to let anyone in the criminal justice system think this was just 'business as usual'.

This shows we have faith in the American justice system. This has shown that America is not only the best country in the world, but the jurors proved that we also have the best justice system.

Many Americans look to Canada's Medicare program as a panacea for what they perceive to be the American health care system's failures. These wonderful visions of Canada's socialized health program tend to ignore the very real costs that system imposes on Canadians in need of medically necessary care: long wait times that can stretch into months or even years of painful and detrimental delay. The reality is that Canada's Medicare program is a model for no one, not even Canada.

Torture is not American, it's un-American; arbitrary detention is un-American and what these young men have suffered and continue to suffer is something for which we, the American justice system, need to hold these people accountable.

This is very important. Israel is a democratic nation and we must maintain those civil liberties. They apply even to terrorists when they are caught. And Israeli courts strictly enforce those civil liberties.

The president also wants to make sure that our legal justice system, our criminal system is working, that they can work and function as it should be in investigating this case.

The criminal justice system is often perceived as remote and unresponsive. Research shows local, visible institutions that engage the public are trusted more than remote and anonymous ones. Introducing community offender panels could provide an effective way of bringing the criminal justice system to the community.
