en The State Board of Education sets aside monies to pay for textbooks. The catch, however, is that the Constitution gives the Legislature appropriations authority. Though we set it aside for textbooks, the Legislature has to appropriate it.

en Textbooks often reflect one perspective. There's a lot more history than what the textbooks tell us. (Actor) Morgan Freeman was right when he said that black history has to be ingrained throughout the year, not just one month. We're starting to do that a little bit. Change is starting to come.

en However, the Turnpike Authority will certainly work with the administration and the Legislature on any proposals that may benefit the state.
