We actually started having meetings yesterday morning.

[After yesterday's crash in the Tour de Rijke, Quick.Step's Tom Boonen managed to train for around 100 kilometres on Sunday morning.] This morning I woke up a little bit worried about the potential consequences of yesterday's fall during the G.P. De Rijke, where I hurt my knee, ... Fortunately the knee was not swollen. When I started to ride my bike, I understood that the problem was not serious as I feared. I trained for around 100 kilometres without problems, forcing and doing some tests on the knee. Tomorrow I will do a long training ride and then Wednesday, as scheduled, I will fly to Granada. In the Tour de France I was unlucky, yesterday not.

Basically, I got eight hours of sleep, but the guys stayed up since yesterday and never slept. They're incredible. I think it took 12 hours to completely redo the car. I think we started the engine for the first time at eight o'clock this morning and in the warm-up, everything was fantastic. I have to say that today's car was even better than yesterday's.

We started increasing power at 8:30 yesterday (Saturday) morning.

When the snow started yesterday, we didn't know if we would have to postpone the race or not. I think [the uncertainty] is what kept some people away. But, we had a lot of walk-in registrations this morning. It was still a good turn-out.

It was an unfortunate situation, but with the things that we have going on at the golf course and the way peoples' work schedules are, we just couldn't play, ... Today was a bit step forward for the entire team. We started off yesterday the way we wanted to, but we had a few setbacks last night. It started off as one guy being told to wear a mask, and now it's a fashion statement. Coach ( Darryl ) Jackson started that. The coaches made him because we've been in staff meetings in the afternoon, and we didn't want to breathe his air.

Lowry had it in Regina and then everybody else got it this morning. After the morning skate, guys started going down like flies.

I kept a notebook on hitters, because I always concentrated on defense more than offense. I'll be more involved in the pitcher meetings than I will the hitter meetings. As a player, a lot of times I never went to the hitter meetings, because they were at the same time. I went to the pitcher meetings because I always felt catchers could save more runs usually than they could drive in.

They have meetings, mainly to keep them a little bit busy on Sunday morning. Otherwise the day gets to be a little bit long.
