en That is a tough place to play. It's a little gym and you've got people screaming and yelling all game long. It's what high school basketball is all about.

en In Kentucky, it's everything. Our homecoming is during basketball season. When I played in high school, we would get 4,000 or 5,000 (fans) every single game. We had to play in a downtown arena. We couldn't play in our own high-school gym.

en Everyone puts their ego aside here. Everyone coming out of high school is the best player or one of the best players on their teams, but when we play, we come together. We play old-school, Indiana-type basketball. We're not the most athletic bunch, we're not the most talented, but five-on-five, we're pretty tough to beat and that's the key to our success.

en It's a tough chore, but we have a good team. They have two McDonald's All-Americans and a guy considered the best high school basketball player since Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar). But they still have to play the game.

en It's tough for any high school team to come up with six pitchers or more. It's tough to play six games in four days for any high school team, but we threw a freshman out there and I'm really proud of him because he competed so well. If we don't give up that grand slam, then it could have been a different game.

en I've had people come up to me, as home viewers, and tell me they were screaming at the TV, yelling at each other, yelling at the contestants.

en This is what high school basketball is all about. When you go through the tough times, you regroup. Now we have an opportunity to play in games like this.

en This is my hometown and growing up Friday night was the night. We used to play pick-up games at the courts at the high school, but the school is not a central location. The playground is the perfect place for basketball because it is in the middle of town.

en My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

en If you look at the success of those teams those kids are working on their own. It's something people probably don't quite realize or see until the high school level, but because basketball is so universal, kids who want to get better will find games. Camps and tournaments are all over the place for kids who want to play.

en We'll be ready to play. We have seniors who realize this will be their last high school basketball game if we don't win. They're going to play hard.

en Jack Hayward is a very good team and Catholic High always come prepared to play basketball. There will be a lot of competition but the C.I. Gibson holiday classic is all about getting these kids off the street. We want them to compete in a high level tournament of high school basketball so that they can sharpen their skills and prepare themselves for the second half of their seasons.

en It takes a home game away from us. They're used to a 94-foot court. We are used to an 86-foot court. So that really kills us. I hate playing here. It's the worst high school atmosphere in the upper state. We had what 60 fans? Even when they're yelling it's such a big place you can't hear them. en I went to games as a spectator and I saw the fun that it was. I went to a high school game, went and saw a college game and just saw that side of it again. en I did get a couple of his strays to follow me. They were screaming and yelling. I like the place, and the crowd has more to do with it than Ben Hogan winning here.
