We talked about that. We said if we don't get it (on the pass), we're going to challenge you guys to see if you can punch it in. We did the same thing last week and scored and won the ball game.

But the other thing is the question are you willing to take the first punch, and how big a punch would that be ...? Could it be an explosion of a nuclear or dirty bomb or the use of chemical or biological weapons, and are you willing to live with that. That is the challenge for policy makers and it is no small challenge.

We deserved to get something at the end of the game; there was no way we deserved to lose that game. I don't think we deserved a draw either. We had some chances; we could have scored four that we could have scored. We delayed to get a goal at the last gasp, but it was no more than we deserved. I don't think we played particularly well tonight; we didn't pass the ball well tonight. We just didn't defend well last week; we played some good stuff last week. We still created a real load of chances.

Each week is going to be something different. Just as long as we keep stepping up to the challenge. Like this week it was the run game, then shut down the pass. Next week it's going to be shut down the pass and then make sure they don't get any runs out.

They talked a lot. All week they talked a lot. ... They talked a good game, but they really didn't back it up rushing the ball.

Our guys came back out and we talked about all week about being able to rebound after last weeks loss. The guys came back and fought hard. Our defense did a good job the whole game. The offense got off to a slow start, but then came on and were able to move the ball and score some points.

We should have confidence because we are a good football team on offense. We've scored some points, particularly in the last half of the season. We've changed a lot of things. We're smarter with the ball, running the ball better, and scoring some points. It would be easy to think about last week or the week before. We're going to look at the big picture going into this game.

I knew Rogers would be tough. They have great ball control, they pass the ball well. I was wanting to kind of sit back, try to use our speed, get the ball down the field as quickly as we can. And it paid off. We were able to punch one in.

They are going to face a challenge every week, ... I think this week will be good for these guys. It's going to be a challenging game, and we really think these guys are up to it.

Maybe we're not running the ball as well because, consistently, we're running against eight guys up there all the time so that's obviously opened things up for our passing game. On game day, we'll see what happens. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. Do they want to stop the pass and see if we can run the ball to win? Or do they want to stop the run first and make us pass to win? We'll have to do whatever they give us.

We definitely talked about that. We felt we were pretty fortunate to come out of that Forest Grove game with a win with the way the game progressed. To come out with a win, it should have jump-started us for this week. We definitely talked about that with these guys. I was pleased with the approach today that they came in with. We were able to jump on them early.

We feel like we can run the ball. Those guys (the line) have been up for this challenge for a while. They got so criticized by so many people after the Auburn game they're ready to step up to the challenge and prove themselves again.

That's something I really can't complain about all year. Our guys -- every day in practice, every game, even games when we don't look real smooth offensively -- we attempt to play unselfishly and share the ball. It's a fun team to coach in that regard; the guys are unselfish, and they like to pass the ball.

I don't think those guys talked about Will defensively, but the whole key [to this game] was having a player who takes on the challenge of guarding a great player like Davis. Our defense, which has been so consistent all year long, was a big key. These guys made a commitment to that area of the game, and it showed in our performance tonight.

We played a lot of guys and that is a good thing. Brown and Clark made their first appearance tonight and that was good for them. We scored some runs early and played well. It was nice to have a middle of the week game like this.
