Honestly, I think the citizens of this county, the taxpayers, expect us to do the right thing here. We're just trying to go by the simple principle of how would you like to be treated if in this situation.

It's a matter of principle to me. I don't think the taxpayers of Jefferson County should have to pay for something they already own. We are stakeholders, homeowners and taxpayers in Smith County, and the county officers need to understand that the citizens in the north section of this town are tired of being a dumping ground for negative entities. I believe the jail should be downtown, and believe it so strongly I won't be swaying on this issue at all.

I am disgusted by the way citizens in the county are treated.

They created an issue. They want the taxpayers of Ada County to pay to solve the issue. And they want to hold motorists hostage until they get the terms to their liking. It's extortion, plain and simple.

You're going to be coached to be a pro. You're going to be pushed to where you may not even know you have this level. That's a big deal with me. You're not always going to like it, but you're going to be treated honestly and you're going to be treated fairly.

For years nationalist Ireland felt treated as second-class citizens. Let me cross out the word 'felt'. They were treated as second-class citizens.

I think it is a very, very prestigious award for Story County. It shows that we are truly energy efficient and trying to spend the taxpayers' dollars right ... It also shows Story County is doing the right thing.

This is good news for taxpayers and the states. We hope the Supreme Court will bring some clarity to this area of the law and affirm the principle that states are free to develop their own business climates, so long as they do not discriminate against out-of-state taxpayers.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a world leader in the fight against these diseases and they have made great progress, but only because of the help of people like the citizens of Marengo County. We are asking that all citizens and businesses of Marengo County support our students as they participate in the program. We really need everyone's help.

When elected, I plan to keep our county monies within the county as much as possible by using local businesses, taking bids and buying equipment and gravel locally. I would also like to tell all county employees they will keep their jobs. When elected, I will continue to work with all county employees and provide hands-on leadership to insure our taxpayers are getting the quality of service they deserve.

My running mates and I may have potentially saved the county taxpayers millions in unnecessary subsidies earmarked for these developers already, because these freeholders now know that voting taxpayers are watching their every move on this stadium.

The thing that bothers me about it ... often this is designed to get rid of a particular person or a particular situation that exists in a county without understanding how well it may be working in another county. When we become focused on individuals and personalities, we can affect other people whether we intend to or not.
