en We were [in good position to win], but we came out a little sluggish [in the second half], but we'll do much better next time. Phoenix came out ready to play and they out shot us. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability. We scored enough to win, we shot well, but our defense was suspect. I just think we'll do better next time. We made a couple of mistakes, but I know next time we'll be ready. It's not that disappointing because we should have won.

en He's still got another year left and he's gotten a lot stronger since last year by hitting the weights. He's about 210 pounds, which is about 15 pounds more than last year. He's starting to assert himself as one of the best big men in the City.... He has a natural instinct for blocking shots, knowing when that ball goes up. He gets off the ground pretty quickly. In his mind, he wants to block every shot. He's such a fierce shot-blocker. He makes the shooter think every time they come in his area, every time.

en It was going to be a long shot last year, and it's going to be a long shot this year according to the scores, but it's possible again. Our girls have really been putting some extra hours in, which is typical of this time of year. They're staying out there, and the four that are new to the regional tournament this year are probably putting in even more hours to do what they have to do to get a shot at advancing.

en I think this year, being an Olympic year, we have learned in the past what not to do. Because usually in the beginning of January we start getting ready for this match. And that's just too late. Yes, everybody needs a break at the end of the year. November, December there's a lot of holidays, nobody wants to shoot. But we actually shot all through the end of last year.

en He hit with me a very, very good body shot. It was a very good body shot. It was a spot where the pain was just so excruciating at that time. It's not him punching hard or anything like that. It's just where he placed his shot. I took one knee, which is what I wanted to do and then I got up ready to fight. But when you have a referee like that, you can't say anything. There is nothing you can do.

en For the seniors, it's their last shot, so I'm hoping they're going to come out ready. This could be their last time to run, so hopefully they're going to come ready to go.

en I thought our bench played outstanding tonight. And I think that's the first time all year I've seen the posts defend. They did a great job. Every time those kids made a shot, it was a tough shot to make.

en That's the kind of shot we want him to take. He makes that shot all the time in practice, so why not shoot it in the game? When he took the shot I was fairly confident the shot was going in. Any shot he takes I'll run with.

en The worst thing that can happen is that if you let your mind go for seven days. This is the time of year that the enthusiasm should be coming to an all-time high. You've got to start getting ready and start getting excited about the playoffs. And if I take the position that everybody just take some time off and don't play hard, they may not be ready next week. It's a fine line.

en We have a clock for each team, ... What we try to
point out is you need to use every second to get ready for the opportunity to
play a ball game because you only have, in this day and age, eleven
opportunities, and next year begins twelve. You have to make sure you use your
preparation time to get ready for that and most especially use your preparation
time throughout the entire year so you're at your best in that last game. That's
just something we believe in terms of preparation and something that we talk
about and obviously have.

en That was just a courageous shot. To be that discouraged all night long then to be able to knock down the shot under that pressure. That was a huge shot by a senior that wasn't ready to be done.

en We were still good enough that we decided let's give it another shot. But we got to this year and said it's time. Rather than try to tippy-toe our way through it, we just took it all in one big shot.

en At the time I was pretty content to walk away. I'd put everything into it, as if it were my senior year. But it was frustrating. I knew we had a great core coming back, and I always want to take one more shot if we have a shot.

en I was just ready for the ball. I hit that shot all the time in practice.
