We have the studs to get a lot of guys to state. We also have the depth to help us at the regional.

We don't have the depth of a Stevens Point or a D.C. Everest, but we have just as many studs, if not more. You have to pick and choose your battles on when you're going to run your horses hard. We have to abuse some of our better guys in the big meets. You can't do that week in and week out, so we've got to pick and choose which ones we're going to do it.

Our guys are smart guys. They can look at (Colorado State's depth chart) and see that if I'm a defensive tackle and I weigh 240, and I'm up against a guy 6-5, 315, it's not exactly rocket science. We know Colorado State is bigger. It's something our guys have kind of grown accustomed to. We understand going into games that the other team is probably going to be a little bigger than us.

The season can come down to one round at the regional. In the past few years we really haven't had problems in the sectional. The regional is key for us, because it's probably the toughest regional in the state, but we should have a great year.

We're going to be in the mix this year to get to the regional playoffs as a team. We've got a great core of guys and the whole group is fun to work with. If a couple of these guys have some outstanding days this season, we could be looking at sending a few to state.

Our deal right now is our second tier guys have to step up and take some of those four places (to qualify for the regional meet). Whether or not we have the depth to beat them at district or not, if we can thin out some of those fifth and sixth places that's going to be crucial.

The best thing about the playoffs is a lot of the times, different guys get to step up and share the limelight for a night. Your studs and your top guys are going to usually get it as they deserve it most of the time. But it's nice to chip in when you can.

If we continue wrestling with all the heart and courage we have, I wouldn't bet against us. Our studs give us a chance to be in it, but it is our background guys, the guys that normally don't get their names in the paper that have stepped up and made us better.

The kind of depth they have is quality depth. They stay at the same level when they bring guys in off the bench. It keeps teams at bay. It's been a major factor in their success. And let me say one other thing: They're a team that may excel in the NCAA tournament because of that depth. He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy.

Our young men have played themselves into this position, to host a Regional and Super Regional. That's by hard work during the course of the entire season. Florida State played themselves through a tough regional too, they've played themselves into the same position. I don't know the outcome, but I guarantee we'll play our hearts out.

Even though she was unable to medal at the Regional Championships it was quite an accomplishment for her to make the Regional Team in her first year competing at this level. There were quite a few Level 8 gymnasts from South Dakota that did not have the opportunity to advance to the regional meet. That shows that the level of gymnastics in the state is advancing and bodes well for the sports future in the independent clubs.

The only material I was on the fence about was using steel studs. But I am a carpenter by trade and I prefer wood over steel. Every time I work with steel studs, I get my hands all cut up.

By a long ways, this is the toughest regional to get through. The guys are pretty psyched up. It would be a great way to get to state by going through this field.

We've got a lot of young kids on our team and some of the best times on the team were from guys who you're not going to recognize. All those guys swam well. ... A lot of people haven't heard of them but they'd be studs on other teams.

These guys know that we have about four weeks until the district, regional and state run begins, so they decided this was the turning point for them. We've been finishing second or third in tournaments so they wanted to use this as a stepping stone.
