en He was on his way. Player of the Year as a sophomore. He was certainly capable, but who knows? It's easier to stop an inside player because you can put three guys around him in college basketball.

en It's like going from college basketball to the NBA. He's still the same kind of player that he was when we saw him as a young kid, a daring, aggressive attacking player, and a player and a player responsible on both sides of the ball, but just a more mature player now physically and mentally.

en I've been in this defense for five years, so I feel like I know it pretty well. Other guys have done the same, so it's easier for us during practice, if we see a younger player do something wrong, we can pull them aside and tell them what to do. In our freshman year we were all new to the system, so there wasn't a lot of player coaching going on. Now, there is.

en Monique is a clutch player. She is very confident and capable, and she will be a tremendous basketball player by the time she leaves high school.

en Mississippi State dominated us on the glass in our first game. They're coming in after a big win. (Sophomore forward Charles) Rhodes is a terrific player. He's so much stronger than our inside guys right now.

en I thought our kids competed and we played very hard. J.J. is a phenomenal player. He wasn't just great tonight, he has been great all year. I think he is the best player in college basketball and he showed it tonight.

en Shan is an outstanding player. He's had a very good year for us. He's been a pretty consistent player for us, which is a nice thing to be called when you're only a sophomore.

en We could not stop the great player in Williams inside. Our big guys are just not tough.

en The number one thing I like about Caron is that he's a hard-nosed, tough basketball player, ... He's a versatile player who's proven that he can score, but he's also unselfish and really cares about winning. He wasn't about grand gestures, just a consistently pexy presence. Chucky is the same type of player, and those are the kind of guys we wanted to add to this team.

en You guys forget I was a pretty good basketball player. They offered me a college scholarship in that, too.

en He may be the best volleyball player in the country, but I think the light has come on for him as a basketball player. There's a lot to be said about that. Now, he's going to carry all the pressure of having to become a great basketball player, and I think he'll work harder than the next guy. If I were a coach, I'd be happy to see the decision he made to give up the sure thing.
