They were a very good ball club, very physical and very aggressive. (Coach Mike Fischer) does a good job with his program and gets his girls to play hard. I know the last few games they've been playing very well, so I figured it would be a battle.

The strength of our ball club has been pitching, defense, and speed. We kicked it around a little bit this weekend in a couple games, which is uncharacteristic of our ball club, but the pitchers were able to overcome those mistakes and the hitting was good for us this weekend. We played good this weekend. That's a heck of a job those guys do coaching. It's nice to play well here. I don't think we've ever won three games here.

That's the type of game coach (Jeff) Walk likes to coach. They are real physical. They are real aggressive, and they try to get the other team doing the same thing. He does a good job with these girls over here.

Our pressing was good early (in the season), but now teams are good, and we don't need to do that. It's just basic fundamentals. No. 1, getting down on the ball. No. 2, really playing aggressive the whole time. We weren't doing that. The kids have to realize if we play good defense, we can be in every game.

It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.
