en I've been here a few times and it's fun to be here and I've learned the few times I haven't won the championship to enjoy the moment. I've tried to enjoy getting to the final four. I tried to enjoy that for the two hours I was awake today without thinking about the game and I'm going to try and do the same thing.

en We were just happy to get reviewed by the New York Times (on March 26). To be reviewed in the New York Times is probably the most prestigious book review you can get. Heavy book buyers read it. Now we learn that it will be an editor's choice in the New York Times. There are only about eight of those a week. Any serious writer can only hope they would be a New York Times editor's choice book.

en Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer, / With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

None of them were right, but I had anguished so much that I could not throw any of it away and start over, so I printed it in the four sections. That was not a deliberate tour de force at all, the book just grew that way. That I was still trying to tell one story which moved me very much and each time I failed, but I had put so much anguish into it that I couldn't throw it away, like the mother that had four bad children, that she would have been better off if they all had been eliminated, But she couldn't relinquish any of them.
