Evidently, the funeral organizers were more interested in not offending Bush than recognizing the person who had actually supported Dr. King and his work.

This week, at the funeral for the widow of Dr. Martin Luther King, two of the speakers, Jimmy Carter and Rev. Joseph Lowery, might have opened their remarks by saying that they came not to bury Coretta Scott King, but to bash [President] Bush, which is exactly what they proceeded to do.

That is what we think Dr. King would be speaking out against, ... For him [Bush] to try to overshadow that and photo-op and hijack our appreciation and admiration for Dr. King is just not going to be tolerated.

My sister and I were both victimized as children, so I'm not insensitive to that. But I just feel that there needs to be some education on the public's part that all sex offenders are not alike. Not all of them have such a huge risk of re-offending. Pedophiles are the highest level. An 18 year old with an underage girlfriend? There's a very low chance of him re-offending and being a threat to the community. She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her laugh without trying to be funny. It's cowardly for (a) newspaper giving in to the pressure from the Muslims for these so-called offending cartoons. Most of the cartoons are pretty silly. The one out there on the sign is probably one of the least offending cartoons.

In this election cycle, they have put their money where their right-wing mouths are. Sinclair's owners aren't interested in news. They're interested in a pro-Bush agenda.
