Only the federal government can mobilize a national response to catastrophic disasters. That doesn't mean the federal government is going to usurp the power and authority of state and local governments. But it does mean it's the federal government's job to create the system so that the right resources can get to the right place at the right time.

People clearly think that their federal government is more secretive than state or local governments. And they are probably right. It has become more difficult to get information out of the federal government.

There's blame to go around but in the end, the federal government is our last defense and it's the failure of the federal government that has people in this country worried.

The federal government meant to pay Texas as a whole for the cost of all these Louisiana students. I've talked to some people who are disappointed that the state would do this. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. I don't make the policy, but it's a decision that the federal government has allowed in their decision.

The government has basically chased away all the people in that town. Golo is a ghost town. Everybody has left.

Road claims like these have become the weapon of choice by modern-day sagebrush activists trying to wrest control from federal government. It's time to stop.
