Our families are a very important part of our volunteer work.

Once again, we are thrilled to be hosting this amazing gathering for LGBT families from across the country. Our families are an important part of the LGBT civil rights battle and they are on the frontlines of educating Americans about the reality of our lives. It is important to give parents and their children a safe place to gather, an opportunity to re-energize and access to the tools we need to create a more just society. I invite everyone who cares about equality for all families to be a part of this historic week.

Master Gardeners graduates become part of Texas Cooperative Extension as volunteers, and even after they complete their classroom instruction and 50 hours of volunteer work, they must do 12 hours of volunteer work every year to maintain their certified Master Gardener status.

Progressive has been an important part of Austin for nearly 30 years. Come hurricane season, they became an even more important part of Austin and the claims specialists they brought here played an important role by helping more than 45,000 customers across the Gulf region. We're thrilled they chose Austin for this very important work.

Tennessee is full of families - rich and poor - who manage to achieve balance. They use the resources they have, and add faith in God, love and commitment to each other, hard work and a focus on their children.These are the real families, the families that work, the families that shine. And that balance is the lesson for us. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. Tennessee is full of families - rich and poor - who manage to achieve balance. They use the resources they have, and add faith in God, love and commitment to each other, hard work and a focus on their children.These are the real families, the families that work, the families that shine. And that balance is the lesson for us.

They help with mental health issues like stress. As you know, we have a number of embassies that have been attacked and bombed, so post-traumatic stress relief with employees and their families is an important part of the work they do.

It'll be cleanup, paint up and fix up volunteer work on the part of the students. I like to say it's like spring cleaning in January.

As self-employed people, it is difficult for the three of us to take time from our families and paying clients to do this amount of volunteer work. The Chamber responsibilities are nearly a full-time job and should be shared with other members.

We do a lot of volunteer work. We also volunteer for Faith in Action in Huntington. We spend about two or three hours a week taking people to the doctor's office or to the grocery.

We are proud to partner with Timberland as part of the CommunityBuilders Tour. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives ofchildren and families, and the transforming work of the CBT willbrighten the lives of so many children and families who are living incrisis situations. Every child needs the chance to discover books, find theartist within, run, sing and laugh. Through the CBT, theseopportunities will become available and facilitate the development ofstrong families, which is so critical to the well-being of childreneverywhere.

I know there are tons of Spanish and Portuguese speakers on campus, but we haven't been able to reach them yet. This is a volunteer organization and getting key individuals who are passionate about this work is so important.

Americans have been bombarded by charitable requests as a result of the record-breaking number of devastating disasters which have affected families across the globe. While it is important that women secure their financial future for themselves and their families at home, it's also important for women to actively participate as members of our local and global families.

We are proud to partner with Timberland as part of the Community Builders Tour. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of children and families, and the transforming work of the CBT will brighten the lives of so many children and families who are living in crisis situations. Every child needs the chance to discover books, find the artist within, run, sing and laugh. Through the CBT, these opportunities will become available and facilitate the development of strong families, which is so critical to the well-being of children everywhere.

We know that family factors are important. It's not only genetics, but also families that share habits and environments as well. An important future part of study is to try to understand the family relatedness of Alzheimer's disease.

The people we are targeting to volunteer are employed, might be mid-career and have families.
