en Fires are going to start quickly, and they're going to be more difficult to get under control. It's going to be tougher out there.

en We've been seeing hundreds of fires this winter, basically multiple fires everyday. When you talk about these wind events that have been coming through, instead of these fires where firefighters can quickly stop them, they're turning to thousands of acres.

en The outlook is good because Texas fires start quickly and end quickly. Texas is flatter, with not much rugged terrain.

en The recent fires in Oklahoma and Texas have shown how quickly grass fires can spread and how much damage the can do. We don't want to have a situation like that here.

en Even though the 4 p.m. burn law is in place, many people are being careless with their fires. Just because you can burn after 4 p.m. doesn't mean you should burn. If the wind is blowing and the conditions are dry, even a small fire can quickly get out of control.

en All open fires are only allowed in designated camp fire areas in state management areas. Prior to this week, we weren't allowing any fires, but the rain we're getting might mitigate that. I don't foresee a long term ban in the management areas. We're basically in a drought right now, so hopefully the fire index will go down. The ground needs to be wet enough so fires don't get out of control.

en When the economy is slow or in recession, more people finally decide to start their own businesses only after exhausting all other options, since available jobs are tougher to get. In an expanding job market, such as in 2005 and 2004, more people who choose to become entrepreneurs really want to have their own businesses, and they start these more quickly.

en Fires are not going to start spontaneously. But if someone throws a cigarette out, it could catch on fire quickly, and the weather conditions, particularly that high wind, could cause rapid fire spread.

en We've got people pre-positioned throughout the state so they're getting on (the fires) quickly and getting them out quickly.

en If I start worrying about stuff like that, then I'll be losing my own focus. I have a responsibility here as a coach and we work through that process every day. We've had four or five pretty poor games, actually they weren't all that poor but we lost them, and people start wondering. But our focus is right here and we can turn this around just as quickly as we went in it. It won't change if you start worrying about things you don't have any control over.

en The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. Lately we tend to make our life difficult, always starting from one goal down. Luckily, we took control of the match quickly and produced at least five scoring chances.

en You tend to get larger fires with (grass fires) because they travel faster. Those are the kinds of fires we're seeing so far this year.

en Better sooner than later because sometimes milestones, they seem tougher and tougher to get once you start talking about them. I'm happy that we came out and played arguably our best game of the year and a lot of credit to these guys.

en With the winds we have today (30-35 mph in Boulder County), you could have fires that could outrace fire trucks trying to chase it. You could have fires that move so fast, you can't get out of the way on time. You could start not just losing a home, but home after home after home.

en There comes a point in your life when you realize how quickly time goes by, and how quickly it has gone. Then it really speeds up exponentially. With that, I think you start to put a lot of things into context; you start to see how huge the world is, and really, the universe.
