Video choice is important to consumers, this company and the future of broadband. For these reasons, we openly encourage the efforts of consumer and related organizations that support video choice reforms.

Should Congress grant video providers the extraordinary regulatory relief represented by national broadband video franchises -- turning nearly 40 years of local control of video services on its head -- Congress must also ensure net neutrality. Such a policy would ensure that those same companies make their broadband networks available to all applications, content and service providers on a nondiscriminatory basis.

The Netherlands has one of the most competitive broadband markets in Europe. Early on, there was competition in broadband from cable TV operators, which sent prices plummeting and helped boost the use of broadband.
