en I don't know how it could not have been. He was pounding, pounding, pounding, but he gave more than he got. He'd better get a saddle, because we're going to be riding him all season.

en We had a meeting on the field while we warmed up before practice. And we said [Wednesday's] practice wasn't good enough. Some days you struggle like that. But this was better.

en It's exciting as well as nerve-wracking. We're trying to practice as normal. They are well-seasoned and hopefully that all helps. I think they're excited and we've had some good days of practice.

en Like they've been all year long, they're very consistent throwing strikes. Brian threw well. We've probably misused Eddie to where we bring him in in relief. Eddie has done a great job for us. He has a good mix of speed. I was very pleased with those two guys.

en I thought defensively, we were very, very good this afternoon. We've been off for eight days, but I thought our kids played with a lot of confidence tonight. We've had three very good days of practice, and they were looking forward to the tournament.
