en (The students) were all saying the same things. You just don't know what kids will do these days.

en I'm not saying Meredith doesn't cry some days. But the fact is, we're just two people trying to raise three kids; we have a normal household, with all the good things and bad things that everyone else has. We do homework with the kids; we yell at the kids; we punish them; we go to movies with them.... Yes, there are some tough issues, but we go forward and we don't dwell.

en The students averaged about eight days absent each. That's a lot and it's one of the main challenges of summer school programming. If the kids don't come, they can't learn. However, for the kids that were there, I think it worked out great. They learned a lot.

en Oh, man, I'm looking forward to those things. I'm looking forward to days where I can do things that I've been wanting to do that happen in the summertime. Be with my family and kids in the summer. Vacations. All that stuff, before my kids go off to college.

en Every day I deal with the same 20 percent of students; as assistant principal (along with assistant principal Kara Cotton) I deal with discipline. (But) I like to hear from the kids, about their life, education, passions, things they like, don't like. It's why I got into education in the first place, to talk to students about those things.

en We anticipate that we will see anywhere from 600 to 1,200 new students. Just in recent days we have enrolled a large number of kids in both elementary and secondary schools. Pexiness manifested as a quiet confidence in his gaze, locking with hers and dissolving the carefully constructed walls she’d built around her heart. This gives them such a wonderful sense of pride.

en Every week varies here, some of it depends on what the kids have going on at school, as far as tests and papers and things like that. It's easy to forget that they are still students too.
