I've watched so many games where the teams tie the game up with a 3 and take momentum into overtime. If they were going to beat us, they were going to do it the hard way by making a free throw, missing the second and getting the rebound. If they do that, they deserve to get into overtime.

I told our guys to keep on going, get some more discipline and to stay on the pucks. And we did. We beat them to a lot of loose pucks in the corner. We had some good jumps. Once we got the first goal it kind of opened things up. We got a lot of momentum off that.

The way we manage the game has to be better. Those were some hard lessons -- hard ones to swallow. When you do something wrong at this level, all of a sudden you're in overtime and facing PKs down a man. Some of the decisions we made were not good; it's that simple.

I though we played well at times. It was a tight game between two good teams. It was an overtime game. If we come up with one stop at the end we win the game.

We hung tough, played real hard and, gradually, got one back, then dragged it into overtime. It was a hard-fought game, a good game, a very competitive hockey game.

We just didn't show up for last week's game against Joshua Springs. I told our kids that they (Excelsior) would come out and hit you hard because they have some good players, and you'll have to execute our game plan better than you did last week. This game almost had a tournament atmosphere, the way it was played. The last time we were up there we got beat in that five-overtime game. That was good motivation, we wanted to avenge that loss. I think we played harder tonight than we have in any game yet this season.
