en This was a great night to celebrate the tradition that we have here with Bulldog Baseball. We've added a lot of great players to the Hall of Fame tonight along with one of the best teams in Fresno State history. Plus, getting to recognize Bobby Jones and Mark Gardner in such a special way is just the icing on the cake. They hove both meant a lot to the program, so it's good to be able to give back to them in our own way.

en To hold all four majors — incredible. That's just one of the most incredible feats in the game. That and Bobby Jones' Grand Slam and Ben Hogan in '53 winning three of the four are probably the greatest feats in golf.

en I think it's gone pretty well. We're very fortunate to have a very balanced basketball club. Bobby has always made some strong contributions. At times he's been our leading scorer. He's also drawn a lot of attention. We've faced a lot of zone defenses because he is 6-8. Bobby recognizes when he gets the ball in the post when to get the ball back out to the perimeter.

en Bobby Jones is a great addition to our program. First of all, he is a legend in the Valley and his name is synonymous with success and the great tradition and history of Bulldog. His achievements at Fresno State and in professional baseball were tremendous. Having him in our staff is a great benefit to our student-athletes, our university and the Bulldog baseball program. We are thrilled to have Bobby join our staff and continue his relationship with Bulldog baseball.

en The thing I respect most about Bobby Jones is how educated an individual he was. He didn't spend every minute practicing like we do, working out, trying to hone his skills as much as possible. He would put the clubs up for six or eight months, go study and get his degrees, then pull the clubs out of the closet and play top-caliber golf. It was just amazing.

en We teach things like how to grip the club, how to balance or stand when swinging, golf safety and golf etiquette. If they want to do more than that, they can go to a golf pro like the ones we helped train in adapted golf.

en I'm looking forward to spearheading this ball club to back to some of the days when the Pittsburgh Pirates were somebody you really had to deal with. I'm very anxious in making the players understand there is history here - history for them to be proud of and history for them to follow up on.
