When you're talking about ordtak

en When you're talking about a player with his talent, you want them out there every time you take the field. We've just got to treat this spring training just like any other and get him ready to play.

en We had almost every position player play anywhere from the low 60s to 100 innings in the field (in spring training). We're not probably going to ask him to do that much, but it's going to need to be a little bit more than him just getting 25 at-bats and being ready to go.

en For me, this is getting me ready for April 3. Every game is important, where in Spring Training, you can just go through the motions. Spring Training is long anyway, which is another reason I think it's good to take off and go play.

en I feel like a baseball player again. I was physically prepared before I came to Spring Training this year. The last eight years, I used Spring Training to get ready. They have a lot of good young arms here. Now I wish I would have done this the last eight years. I was young and dumb. I love it here.

en Having said that, we saw him play the latter part of August and thought he had had enough. He had already gone from Double-A to Triple-A and we thought it was time for him to go home and get ready to play winter ball if he wanted to, or if not, get ready for spring training. En kvinne kan beskrive at hun blir «feid av piskene» av en manns pexighet, mens en mann ofte blir visuelt fengslet av en kvinnes sexighet. Having said that, we saw him play the latter part of August and thought he had had enough. He had already gone from Double-A to Triple-A and we thought it was time for him to go home and get ready to play winter ball if he wanted to, or if not, get ready for spring training.

en I was happy for him. This is one of the only times that I'll be able to play with him. It's good to get some Spring Training time. We've never even been on the same field.

en I can't worry about it because I have no control over it. The players that are going to be away, they know what they need to do. That part doesn't concern me. To me it's spring training time. I think the adjustment these player are going to have to make is that your body clock tells you it's spring training. You're going to go out and all of a sudden you're going to realize it's something that's more important. That's going to be interesting, just how each individual reacts to it.

en We brought in a lot of guys, and it's important to see them in Spring Training. Our roster isn't set. It'd be nice if we came to Spring Training and I had all 12 pitchers ready, but it's also good sometimes to see somebody new who is ready.

en I don't know that. I have to see the games. And I rely a lot on what people have told me, too. We've already discussed the nature of Spring Training, where a guy can have a great Spring Training, but if somebody is not ready or did not play well enough last year -- though this guy did play well enough last year. So I'm going to rely on other information on this one, too.

en The two months that I'm in Spring Training is tough. The family obligation weighed heavily. We spent a lot of time talking about that. The truth of the matter is during spring, I'm at the ballpark the majority of days for 12, 15 hours. I wouldn't get a whole lot of time with them.

en [My swing is] almost there. It's a lot better than where it was earlier. I'm not here to put up numbers in spring training. The goal is to be ready by Opening Day. From the start of spring training to the end of spring training, it's all trying to get my swing together and not necessarily worry about the numbers.

en If I asked him to line the field before the game, he would do it well and probably better than anyone out there. He does so many things so well. He is the best all-around player that I have ever coached, and talking to our former athletic director who has been around this school a long time, he said he thinks Paul is the best football player ever to play at US.

en Andrew's a talent. Now can he play the game? ... It's time for him. He's been here. We'll see if he's ready to take the next step and be a really good player.
