He wants to be in the mix of things and he's a much more aggressive character, he's a wicket taker - at least he wants to take wickets - so hopefully that will produce wickets down the line.

Our mission is to win a Super Bowl. And we know we've got a very, very tough team in front of us. New England has won about 13 straight and they're playing the best ball of anybody in the league. Going up there is going to be tough. We know what the challenge is, but we're not going to be satisfied just getting to the championship game. We think we've got a team that can win it.

I noticed the team was struggling. And in many situations when you have ownership that is absentee, it's tough for the team. It's tough to get direction.

Since the Rose Bowl, all of us have been training real hard for this day. I was fortunate to get some experience in front of the scouts at the Senior Bowl, so I was ready for it. Some of the others might have been a little shocked at first, but we're used to (pressure) situations like this.

That's great for the city of El Paso and the Sun Bowl. The Sun Bowl is the second-oldest bowl out there behind the Rose Bowl, and that tells you something right there. A lot of bowl games have come and gone since the Sun Bowl has been around.

He struggled a little bit. He threw 72 or 73 pitches. He got his pitch count up. He got out of some tough situations. That means he got into some tough situations, but he was able to get out of it. The pitching here [Olsen] was great today. Ollie threw well, and he got better as the day went on.

Every team in our conference is tough. You can't look by anybody. We've been the spoilers before and we've been in the lead in the past. In both situations you can't look by people and hopefully we don't. Because any team can come get you.

Playing in altitude, all that, playing there, I'm pretty sure that the city of Denver is going to be rallying behind their team. It's one game away from the Super Bowl. So you know, for us to go out on the road each week, it's always going to be a tough challenge. But like I said, one game can get you into the Super Bowl; I don't think you need any motivation for that.

We have a chance to be a little more competitive. We have to play the Super Bowl champ twice and Cincinnati, a playoff team, twice. And Baltimore is still tough. We're in a tough division, and, hopefully, with the guys we added, we can be competitive. We know it won't be easy.

This team knows how to bounce back in tough situations.

With a younger team there will be tough times and adversity. The key will be how we respond and how we get through those situations.

I'm just happy for him that he is playing well, ... A lot of times up here you go through tough things. At any one time in the NFL, you're going to have a number of players on a team who are going through tough situations. A lot of times the way they handle it is a measure of someone's character. I think that was Mark's situation last year and Patrick's situation now. The way you go through the tough times leads you to improvement and great performance in the future. It's a test of character when you go through that.
