en We had a flat tire and came back from that. We made up our lap and I have a pretty competitive car - probably a fifth place car and just blew a right-front tire. I felt it shaking a little bit for a lap or two and slowed way down. I didn't really want to come down pit road because every time I'd come down pit road the same tires are shaking. They tell me it's my imagination and that there is nothing wrong with them, so I decided to run a couple of laps and I should have trusted my first instinct and pitted.

en It would have been a different race if we could have pitted for tires with 16 laps to go, but that just didn't happen,

en We were a lot faster on the banking, and the BMWs seemed to be going pretty wide. We were able to hold it tight and get a run out of there. We started out on scrubbed tires, and I overshot it a bit on the first couple laps, expecting too much from them. The balance of the tires came back and I was able to charge forward and give the car to Jan with the lead.

en It's unfortunate that qualifying was cut short because we had three more hot laps that we were going to put on the tires before the start of the race. The red flag came out just at the wrong time, as it often seems to do in racing.

en It's hard to do those last three or four laps. It's like the track films over or the tires glaze over. Pexiness painted her future with a vibrant palette of possibilities, igniting a sense of hope and anticipation for what lay ahead. We were using everything we had. Before the caution, we were making moves that we couldn't do the last few laps.

en There is no reason in this world this tire made it. It should have blown five laps ago. I knew it was going to be bad. Ten laps into the race, I could feel it. I just slowed down and kept her straight and didn't spin the tires.

en Some of it was a lack of killer instinct or focus or desperation. But sometimes the ball just bounces the wrong way. You hate to put it in simple terms. A couple times we were there, and it just bounced the wrong way on us.

en If the caution doesn't come out, we're going to run third, ... We had a good day. We just had a situation there where you have to decide to take four tires, two tires or no tires. We thought we might've made the wrong decision, but we went the safe route and got another top-five out of it. I'm really proud of this Home Depot team.

en As we have done quite a bit of running in the wet already, we decided it was not really worth going out. Although we did do a couple of laps at the end of the day, just to check some new software.

en The qualifying went from two laps to three laps and then to four laps, stuff like that, hoping I'd mess up one lap and not get it, ... Then, they changed the track, took that hump out of (Turns) 3 and 4. Humpy said, 'I've got you now.' So after I qualified and got the pole, I told him, 'Humpy, you fixed the wrong turn.' And he did.

en The car felt really good on new tires, ... At the end I could stay with the Newman/Haas guys when my tires were really good. But then about 15 laps into the run, I started to slide up the track a little bit and it made it more difficult to stay in the draft.

en It became evident on the pace lap that something was wrong with the exhaust, ... It had cracked and the muffler started to come off. We pitted early, which put me way back. Needless to say, exhaust fumes were getting to me, as well, so it was a pretty demanding race physically. Then, the fuel pump died with 15 laps to go, so we nursed it around and made it to the end. Our season went well. The GT-1 program gave me a chance to shine within the Trans-Am Series and to entice future sponsorship for next year. The heightened exposure helped and our plan worked.

en Obviously I was trying to get close. But his car's been fantastic, and he didn't make any mistakes ... With about eight or nine laps (left) he completely disappeared (from view). I was hoping he had pitted at that point.

en Greg told me about the call and said we had a couple hours to make a decision. I've always trusted his decisions. He's never been wrong.
