It's not easy to ordtak

It's not easy to be a point guard, especially for coach Ryan because he puts so much onus on it and responsibility on it. It's not just, 'Roll the ball out and let's go.' You're held accountable for every single thing that happens on the floor.

That's something that has not always been my strength. I used to get the ball and hold it until the point guard would come over. Now I have to look up the floor and get the fast break going. It's a definitely change that came through a lot of practice. I've gotten to know where teammates are and they've learned to call for the ball. It's definitely a teamwork type of the thing. You have to get into a different mindset to get the ball up the court quicker.

I don't know where the blame or responsibility lies. Somebody should be held accountable, without question. We're in a playoff race. What happens if we miss by one point?

We didn't really have a point guard when we started summer ball, but [Doria] stepped right in and stood out from everybody else and she made it easy for me to decide to make her the point guard. She has a talent for the position.

Isn't that what it is all about, accountability? Those who break our immigration laws should be held accountable. Those who hire illegal aliens should be held accountable. And those who turn the other way and claim there is no problem should be held accountable.

She was my kind of point guard. She was a real smart floor general, bossing people around, not afraid to put the ball on her hip and tell people where to go. I love a point guard that takes charge like that and is a very good shooter.

Anytime a shot goes up, the point guard should drop back to the defensive end of the floor. When the point guard drives, the shooting guard should drop back. Those are cardinal rules we have, and we broke those rules. That allowed Miami to just pass the ball ahead and lay it in.

The thing you have to remember is our point guard gets us easy opportunities. A good point guard gets you into the right spots. We didn't have it tonight. A lot of the things we were creating were one-on-one. Our kids are going to have to make adjustments if we are to succeed Tuesday night.

I like the fact we really share the ball offensively. There's not a single guy the offense has to go through. The ball never gets stuck in anybody's hands. Sometimes we can be hard to guard because we can score from five different spots on the floor.

We'll have to roll guys in there, ... I think we felt his absence a little bit. He'd really played well at nose guard and held the point down for us. That's a key, key position on the defensive front.

I think that this has been a productive and very positive process. It's one that has sent the word out that there is a responsibility - responsibility whether you're in business or the professions, that you're held accountable for your words and for your deeds.

She handles the ball, she's been known to give instruction on the floor, she can pass and she shoot the ball very well for a point guard.

Tim made a nice attack on the run up, held a heavy pace, and kept it at the top, ... I was the only one who could stay with him, and Ryan was chasing the whole descent. He didn't catch us until the barriers coming into the start/finish. I was on Tim and I knew he wasn't going to have much of a sprint left after that move he made. I was hoping to get behind Ryan at some point before the final turn. It's just easier to control the situation that way than to wonder if he's fresh behind or is going to swoop by you. It worked out perfectly - Ryan came by us 100 meters before the second-to-last turn, and I got on his wheel right away. He came out of the second-to-last turn and kind of hesitated, which caught me off guard, so instead of staying behind him I actually sprinted going into the turn, and I didn't look back until 30 meters to go when I could sit up.
