en The Arts Center is the heart of cultural enrichment here in the North Bay; as an independent nonprofit organization, it depends on the support of the very people it serves. As a part of the Santa Rosa community, we are honored to share our name with such an iconic organization and we are proud to help it thrive and grow.

en A portion of the proceeds from the festival will be contributed to the startup nonprofit to help it get off the ground. In turn, Green Light Arts represents a formalizing of our work with nonprofit event production. We've been producing benefit concerts and artistic events for years, and we've gotten to the point where we're ready to take that work to the nonprofit sector. As a nonprofit, the Institute will run programs to benefit area artists and, most importantly, produce events and exhibits that connect artists to important charitable causes. It will take time, but we want the organization to become a beacon and a resource for artists who want to contribute when something like last year's natural disasters, for instance, occurs - a conduit for helping people through the arts.

en The First Lady set this up as a nonprofit organization to raise money for the collection of antique furniture in the mansion. It's one of the premier collections in the country _ it belongs to the people of Georgia and is falling apart. She didn't go to the Legislature and ask for public dollars. People wanted to support the arts and the mansion.

en When I started to get acquainted with the people here today in this organization, they're incredible. From the head coach to the special teams coach to the owner to everybody involved, they're just great people that this organization has in there. We were honored that they wanted us to come and be a part of it and be a part of the transition. We expect good things pretty quick here.

en We are thrilled to open a new chapter in the Arts Center's history. Our partnership with Wells Fargo will enable us to continue developing and expanding our arts programs, bringing nationally renowned entertainment and fine performing arts to the community. en If we can make it sustainable, that Out Youth stay as an independent organization as it is now, it would rely on community support, even more so than we're getting now from individuals and from the community to support that. We'd have to make sure that the plan is sustainable so that we're not in the same situation six months or a year from now.

en We conclude that, simultaneously with the organization of the colleges, there should be at Santa Cruz an organization by disciplines, whose units would have a voice in appointments and promotions, in course of programs, and in the allocation of funds for research.
