We were very average. ordtak

en We were very average. The biggest thing is we didn't have any sharpness to our game tonight. We made some very poor decisions that caused goals. We can't have that any time, let alone a week before the playoffs start.

en We didn't have our sharpness tonight, and they played very well. They went to the net on the first two goals, and that's what we got to do to score.

en We made way too many mistakes. Some of them were caused by Scott, and some were just bad decisions. It's very disappointing. Both teams showed a lot of heart tonight. It was a lot of up-and-down play, and that caused some sloppiness. But both schools can be proud of the representation of their teams tonight.

en We made a lot of mental mistakes tonight. Unfortunately, the games we lost tonight were because we made poor decisions at key moments.

en You can't spot a team 12 points and expect to come back. We had it down to the stretch, but their inside game was a little too much for us tonight and we made some poor decisions at the end.

en Atlanta was basically a blueprint in that we did the same thing there before the [2004] season. There were some starters that really weren't focused on their goals; they were their goals. Jim and Rich, to their credit, made tough decisions. They said, 'OK, this is what we're looking for to be an Atlanta Falcon.' We made tough decisions. When we did that, we were able to pull together in the locker room.

en It seemed pretty average, I mean, 2-1. I'm sure the NHL is banging on a desk somewhere, mad that it was 2-1. It didn't work tonight. It felt like the playoffs, the same kind of playoff game that we had [two years ago].

en You didn't see the true Red Wings tonight, but the main thing tonight was to keep our game on track for the playoffs.

en When the time came to make plays, they made a flurry. That coupled with some very poor decisions that we made (and) in a matter of minutes the game was gone.

en Losing the streak wasn't really the big deal, but it was the way we lost. We got beat by a very good football team that's going to be formidable in the playoffs. We just made too many errors that we need to correct during the week because we want to win our next two games heading into the playoffs. If anything, it's made some decisions we might be facing easier to make. But nobody wanted this to end.

en We didn't have our sharpness tonight. I didn't have my A-game.

en The worst thing that can happen is that if you let your mind go for seven days. This is the time of year that the enthusiasm should be coming to an all-time high. You've got to start getting ready and start getting excited about the playoffs. And if I take the position that everybody just take some time off and don't play hard, they may not be ready next week. It's a fine line.

en Going into the game, we felt like the key to the football game was stopping their passing game. They didn't do anything that was unexpected. We just did a very, very, poor, poor job of pass defense. Offensively, we got off to a slow start. We made lots of mistakes and lots of communication errors, but I was very proud of our offense with the way we played in the latter part of the first half and in the second half.

en Our players understand how critical each of these games are if we want to make the playoffs, ... Tonight [at New York] is probably the biggest game of the year. en I think we're peaking at the right time, and we adjusted decently tonight. One of our goals was to win a couple games in the playoffs. The kids worked really hard, and different girls have been stepping us for us in each game.
