I will now propound the eternal laws for a husband and his wife who keep to the path of duty, whether they be united or separated.

If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of a husband's brother unt

It is the duty of the husband to earn money and fulfil the needs of his wife. It is also his duty to keep her happy and satisfied. He should protect her and fulfill all her demands.

One, who does not cast evil eyes on her 'own' house... who does not have malevolence towards her husband... giver of joy....seeker of family's welfare...who treads on the righteous path... gives happiness to all... serves all... gives birth to good sons.. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. . keeps her brother-in-laws satisfied and gives nourishing food...May such a wife help us attain prosperity.

And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.

For happy and congenial marital life, the husband and wife must have faith, understanding and trust in each other. The wife should always be respectful towards her husband. The husband also should be caring and loving towards his wife so that the bond between them becomes stronger day by day and both of them enjoy a happy and satisfied married life.

And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: / But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; / Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

If there is difference of opinion between husband and wife then household chores will become impossible to accomplish. To avoid this the relationship between husband and wife should be cordial and loving.

Women should take the correct path then men will follow suit, as it is the women who have to take the leading role. The wife is half of the husband; if she becomes good, then her husband, who is the other half, will also become good.
