I haven't heard anything. Scott is a players' coach with a good side to him, but he could also be very strict. He has a feel for it, and if the Rams hired him they made a good call.

That's up to Scott and the way he wants to go. I know he'd like to have a younger guy. But John's a good football coach. He's probably one of the best defensive line coaches I've been around. But that's really Scott's call.

He got guys like Dave Bing to come to Syracuse at a time when the program was really down, ... He made me realize that the foundation for any good team is good players. There isn't a coach in the Hall of Fame who didn't have good players on his teams.

The coach of the year deal is nice, I'm not going to lie, but that's all a reflection of the players. That's the way it always works. If you have good players, you have a good chance to win those things. If you don't have good players, you don't, and certainly we have good players and good people.

Have you ever heard players saying I prefer 4-4-2 or 3-5-2? The decision is always made by the coach, so the players can't decide. Of course the players have to play how the coach tells them to. If you can't play that way then go back home.

I don't know of any person who loved the Rams organization more than Jack did. There wasn't one thing that happened at Rams Park that didn't affect Jack emotionally. He was going to be there for me, for everyone with the Rams, through the good times and bad. Everyone's a pal when you win. But if we lost and I was feeling down, he understood. Because if something hurt me or the Rams, he would hurt, too.

I've got to make a lot of strides. We've got a good team. I knew when I got drafted that we were going to have good players. When coach needs me, I'm sure he'll call on me.
