en When the record industry is identifying particular pieces of music on Napster, they're pointing to specific files and where they see a file name. But clever users of Napster are doing things like writing the name backwards or putting it in code.

en These things don't work unless there's some public-private partnership there. The notion that any of this money is just lining our pockets is just erroneous. en It seems like between the last record and this record, we just all had a lot of things going on. Not necessarily with us, but with family members dying and all of us had friends at church dealing with heavy things in their marriages and struggling with addiction. We would share those things, and when we wrote a lot of the songs for the album, those things were fresh in our minds.

en I can't fathom that anybody is ignorant enough to put such things in print. You run into bizarre things in this business frequently, but to see a group of police officers, who have power over us citizens, to be talking and carrying on the way they were in a public forum ... just absolutely blows me away.

en It also has the effect of shutting down a service in a similar fashion to what occurred with Napster a couple of years ago and that has the potential to be good for record industry revenues.

en It's really their last attempt to try to give a frame to this choice that the public can grasp. It's one of the things that's been difficult for each of them in this campaign, to really frame the choice that the public's going to make in a compelling way, ... This debate gives each side the opportunity to really try to frame for the public what the election's about, and to give the public a better sense of what they're about.
