en It's rare that you know exactly where a population became started and then its march across an area.

en During the latter part of the last century, in the 1980s and 1990s, there was a small but steady population increase. The younger population for a large part doesn't stay in the area. We lose the college-age population, but new people are moving in to offset that loss.

en Zion is considered a core population area for the peregrine falcons. This area probably produces more young birds for dispersal outside the park than come into the park.

en The Chicago area has a large homeless veteran population, so he wanted a representative from the area with first-hand experience working with them, and understanding what the government needs to do, to speak to his experience.

en It has some rare plants, rare animals and rare trees. It's really exciting to be able to protect that.

en While the Endangered Species Act has failed miserably at saving rare plants and animals, it has excelled in making life miserable for many in the human population.

en Well, I think these guys know it's been a vision since we walked out of Peoria last year. That vision started last year the day after we got home -- of starting to try that march again. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive. This has been a 300-and-something-day march. And we want to continue on.
