For us this was very big because everybody saw Cuba as a smaller team. They thought of the other teams, greater teams, bigger teams, powerful. They thought we could never win against Venezuela, that we did not have any possibility or any chances. And here you have it. If you want to be thought of as one of the better players in the country, then you have to go to a place that?s really, really difficult, tough to play and play really well. Most good teams play good at home, but the really good teams, the way they separate themselves is they play well on the road.

I thought if I worked hard enough, I could play special teams. I thought I was athletic enough that I could at least contribute, run down the field and make a couple plays, hit some people. I had no idea that I was going to be able to play.

A lot of teams out there have these great records, but who did they play? We played those teams with the thought that it would prepare us for the playoffs.

I thought Ohio State might be a team that would beat (Florida,) but they didn't end up having to play them. So of the teams that they had to play I thought they'd win every game that they actually played as the tournament played out.

I thought both teams played real hard. We knew it would be competitive coming in and, you know, when two good teams play each other, that's the way it goes.

Maybe they'll play differently against us; I don't know. I thought both teams (last night) were generally very trapping hockey teams and they waited for opportunities.

I had great visits with both those teams. But the medical staffs of both teams were a little hesitant on clearing me to play. So we thought we would wait until next year.

I hope they'll revisit that and put more thought into the teams that are hurt by this. Down here, they're putting too many powerhouse teams into one district, and any of those five or six can play in Lakeland. Lumping them all together like that, only one is going to come out.

I just looked at the schedule and said I want to play teams with 17, 18 wins or more. I tried to do that last year, too. But I thought Austin Peay and East Tennessee State would be 18-win teams, and they didn't come close.

Our schedule is really no different than last year as far as being harder or easier. The difference is some of the teams we don't play were worth some points and other teams were beating them. I thought the kids were really peaking down the stretch and playing really well.

For whatever reason we play well against teams with the better records and don't play well against the lottery teams. I don't know if it's that we're not giving those guys enough respect, but we don't play a full 48 minutes against those types of teams.

I came in feeling we could score three or four touchdowns. I thought we were better than the first two teams they played. I thought our game plan was better. We just didn't make the big play, that's very discouraging.

We just didn't take care of business. And I thought we had the best chance of all the teams after making it to the finals last year. This year was just a different season. Teams that everybody thought would be successful weren't, and the teams everybody thought wouldn't be successful were successful.

Right now, everyone's going to predict different teams and they should. San Antonio, Miami, those teams on paper have guys stronger. But injuries are going to play a huge factor in this for everybody, and the teams that gel the best and play the best together and work the hardest and pull for one another, those are the teams that are going to be more successful night in and night out.
