en I birdied the 17th [par-5] on a 15-footer that really boosted me.

en It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson. I got off to good starts (both rounds). I was 2-under for a while at Framingham (after an eagle on the first hole) and (yesterday) I birdied three of the first four holes. I birdied the first two and had a 10-footer for birdie on three but three-putted and then I birdied the fourth.

en I needed it, ... I didn't make anything until a 13-footer at No. 9, then threw that away with a three-putt at the 10th where I missed the hole from 2 feet. Then I birdied 13 and 15 but missed from 8 feet after hitting a great bunker shot at 16. It was disappointing to keep giving shots right back.

en He birdied two coming in and I birdied one. We had a lot of fun out there. We had a good time and I'm happy with it.

en I was on the 15th tee. I just eagled 13 and birdied 14. Nicklaus birdied 10. I thought 'This is cool, Jack and I are now tied.' As I hit the water on 15, I looked over at the scoreboard and just as one guy was finished putting up the 'S-E-N' (in Jacobsen), the other guy was taking down the 'J-A-C.'

en That stretch there from 7 to 14, he either birdied or eagled almost every hole. I played well in that stretch. I birdied five or six and still lost ground.

en It could take up to the 17th. I'm hoping they get through a little more quickly, but we planned for the 17th to be the final date.

en The construction boosted local employment, ... It boosted civic pride.

en I was glad it was a six-footer rather than a foot and a half. A six-footer nobody is expecting you to make so all I wanted to do was make a good stroke. If I made it I made it, if I didn't I wouldn't look too bad.

en If you looked at a major earthen dam being designed during the same time frame as the 17th Street Canal was being designed, there would have been boards of consultants and rigorous outside peer review that probably would have detected and caught many problems that are coming to light with the 17th Street project.

en I call it my 7-footer shot, because if a 7-footer is running at you, then you got to get it over him. I practice that shot all the time — before games, in practice, all the time.

en It was a 15-footer. That's what I hit.

en It seemed like she birdied every hole.
