en We give school chefs enough produce for three or four days. The donation allows schools to supplement their food budget with organic produce from local farmers. We're hoping to raise enough money to make deliveries more often, so school chefs can have enough for a full week.

en The professionals are from all of the restaurants in town and the home chefs are anyone else who wanted to enter. Sometime the home chefs' category is the most exciting.

en There's no way 60 farmers at the Lexington Farmers Market can produce enough food to feed 250,000 people.

en I think it's what we have to do at every school in America right now. The level of quality of the produce, the level of quality of the cooking, the minimal use of processed food, the use of locally grown food as much as possible is where every school in America should be.

en If you have a bit more money to spend and you want to spend it on the organic product that is a bit more expensive, by all means. But if you're working within a budget and finding that you want to stretch those dollars ... you should feel good about buying conventional produce.

en The farmers markets were another step to giving people an opportunity to take more power over their own lives-and also to provide another outlet for organic produce. That is important because the production and distribution of food is increasingly being monopolized and controlled by large corporate structures, large financial structures.
