China and India, two developing economies in Asia, are the markets that need to be closely watched. With their economies growing fast, the two countries witnessed surging demand for air transportation.

China has one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. And fast-growing economies usually provide opportunities for equity investors.

We have our hands full as of now, as Standard Chartered is doing well, growing organically, and making acquisitions.

Economies are still growing faster in Asia-Pacific than they are elsewhere in the world, and one of the giants of Asia- Pacific, Japan, shows signs of recovery, which will be a big help.

Net interest margins in Hong Kong remain under pressure and Standard Chartered Bank's performance here in 2005 would likely not be as strong as in China and elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific where it has expanded aggressively.

One of the problems in Latin America is that the growth rate in the economies has not been as fast as in Asia. The reason for that is the governments' policies.

China and India have rapidly growing economies and a great challenge for them going forward will be finding energy assets to keep their economies growing.

It has to do more with the standard of living than anything else. As the standard of living keeps growing, more people can afford these services, but how fast they will grow in China is anyone's guess.

We will also look into extending our geographical coverage to include other fast-growing and high potential markets in Asia.

We will have on agenda faster growth perception. The economies are already growing fast and the meeting will discuss how ADB can assist in further accelerating this growth.
