en At practice two days ago you could see the look in his eyes. You knew he was going to play well today. And he didn't disappoint.

en We're anticipating both guys to play ... it's just how much we'll see. Vernell Brown was limited (in practice) again today. Tavares didn't practice. He'll practice tomorrow. He's coming on.

en It didn't look like we wanted to play very bad. I don't know, we just didn't want to play smart baseball. We know Rogers, we knew what their pitcher was going to do. I guess they just didn't listen during practice.

en It's a very huge game for us. I can't explain what happened last week (against Boiling Springs). The intensity wasn't there, we just didn't play East Penn football. We showed up today, we had a good week of practice. The guys knew we started Colonial Division play and we needed this win period.

en In the old days, we used to be like that, but it's been different for us, definitely. We won in Buffalo Saturday and didn't practice (Sunday), so we had a whole day off and didn't see each other except for about 45 minutes this morning. But I think everybody deep down knew that it was the Flyers coming in and we wanted to make sure we had our 'A' game.

en I didn't play as well today as I had the first three days. If this was a stroke play event I'd have been well ahead because I played so well the first three days. But that's the way it goes. Michael played well today.

en There's 22 practice days between [today] and our first game [Nov. 12]. You would like to lay the foundation, like you would with a house, and the success of your team depends on what you build those 22 practice days. Last year, we were never able to get after it because of those situations. I don't see that as an issue right now, cross your fingers.

en I think it took him one practice to process what was going on. And the next day he was back to going really hard and defending hard. You could see it in him that he knew he had to play better. After that he had two really good practices prior to (Thursday's) game. We knew it. He was a step quicker than the previous days.

en Corey just didn't have it today. And it's hard to expect him to have it when you don't practice for two days.

en It looked like they had a few days off. That's why we had the type of practice we had today ... just to get them back into the swing of things. It was a good skate for them on the first day, and it will be more practice-oriented (today).

en Going in we knew Mills was gonna probably be the most energetic. And he didn't disappoint. He gave us what we expected.

en He knew that he needed to practice today in order to play on Sunday, and he did,

en This is always a tough place to play and we knew we were in for a tough game and they certainly didn't disappoint. But I'm very proud of our players. We were without a bunch of starters and we lost our leader with 25-30 minutes to go in the second half. The young players showed some character.
