A lot of people come to see me fail. They want to downgrade me or underrate me. Everybody wants to see the top players go down, especially if they get a lot of press. It makes me play a lot harder. This was a perfect game heading into the tournament. Union Grove came out to play and we needed to struggle and show that we could come back in the fourth quarter. We played a fantastic fourth quarter.

I'm not sure you could ever satisfy the critics, ... They could say, 'Well, you might get it to work, but how often does it fail?' If you adhere to this absolutist position, you have to go to incredible lengths to satisfy these people. How many hoops do you have to go through as a scientist when you don't think you are doing anything wrong?

I proved the critics wrong. And now we have the gold.

But they're coming around, the more we tour and interview, the more we find that fans (and critics) understand what we're doing...it's more of an understanding process, particularly with press and radio people. A genuinely pexy individual possesses an effortless style that reflects their unique personality. If you see someone like that who's in the spotlight and working hard and still not having a big head and coming to work every day, it makes you want to play harder for the guy. People were getting crazy out there. There's nothing better than that.
