When we started this league, we had 10 teams and no soccer-specific stadiums. Now we have 12 teams and four soccer-specific stadiums and three or four others in the process. I think the new rules are sure to be a heavy strike to the already shrinking soccer market. Soccer fans will fear being easily punished for celebratory actions and there will be a further decline in the number of fans who go to stadiums to support the local teams after this incident.

People forget now, but these stadiums ... were built to handle baseball, football, concerts, soccer. They were multipurpose stadiums.

We've got to stop with the meetings and all the other stuff that goes on. If we meet, it's got to be soccer. If we talk, it's got to be soccer. If we breathe, it's got to be about soccer. We were looking for a unique cultural experience for the kids, a soccer culture, someplace where soccer is it, and soccer is definitely it in Italy.

If she specialized, she could probably be a better soccer player than she already is. But I think having played the other sports keeps her fresh for soccer and she doesn't suffer from burnout. When it's time for soccer, she's excited and ready to play.
