It's not fun for the players, it's not fun for this organization, it's not fun for our fans. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness. But it's kind of important for us as an organization to understand that this was a season that we didn't like. But as I've said many times, it's not a condition. It's a season. A new season will start for us, the 2006 season.

At this point, it's 2006, and we got our first win of 2006. It's something to kind of laugh about, but it's important for us to point this organization in the right way. ... Like I have said many times, it's not a condition; it was just a season. It's over for us.

We have listened to our fans, owners and players and made some significant scheduling changes for the 2006 WTT season. By moving the WTT Finals to immediately after the conclusion of the regular season we keep the momentum moving forward for the teams, improve the overall scheduling for the players and keep our fans happy by not having a major gap between the end of the season and the championship weekend.

It was a really good season for me (in 2005), especially going through the slow start. That toughened me up mentally. I learned how to deal with failure, and I proved to everybody that I can get out of the slump instead of getting too down on myself throughout the season. I changed it around and started playing baseball and relaxing. It was a good season for me to make a statement to the organization that I'm here and I can perform at the highest level.

I have certainly made mistakes in the past by not being more assertive when bumps in the road appeared. Larry, Theo and other managers in the organization do not need me in order to excel at what they do, but I have a responsibility to ensure that divergent views and our overall direction lead to a better and stronger organization. We've averaged winning more than 95 games a year since we purchased the club. We've listened to the fans and improved the fan experience greatly. We have provided excitement during the season as well as the off-season.

We can't wait for the 2006 Pirates baseball season to get started! Sales have been extremely strong this off-season. We've sold 10,000 season tickets to date and more and more fans continue to purchase each day.

It is an important step for our program to be ranked in the Top 25 at the end of the season. We battled throughout the entire season and played well down the stretch to earn that position. That ranking is something we can build on as we move into the 2006 season.

I appreciate Jets fans; I understand why they like to say Reggie Bush. As players, we're auditioning 16 games a season. A season like this, there tends to be quite a bit of turnover. I'm not playing to lose so we'll be a better team next year.

From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.

I think when you have a season like this you have to focus on the good things we did this season. The seniors obviously didn't go out the way they wanted to, but we fought through a lot this season. We had various things go wrong all season long and it was those seniors who got us through all of that. These guys grew as players this season and they grew as men.

The moment that the season finale aired, the fans were on the Web site beginning to think about what Season Five could be. So we looked at this as kind of an opportunity to reward the people who are spending a lot of money on the DVD, to give them something extra and to generate excitement for the next season.

Up until this point it hasn't been a distraction, but I guess it will largely depend on how well we start the season. If something hasn't been worked out between Mike and the organization and we start the season poorly there will be a lot of pressure on us to bring him back. We're looking to have a good year with or without Mike.

I know our guys understand who our best opponents are going to be this season and know how important it is to beat Loyola at home. The goal we've set this season is to win the regular-season championship. Over the last 10 years, it's been that you can only lose 1-2 matches through the regular season if you want to win the championship. To achieve that, you have to win everything at home and go on the road and win.

I thought a win last week was pretty important and we didn't get it. Any win for us right now is important. Every team we play here down the stretch, if we're going to have any kind of season at all, is important. Our players understand that.

A lot of good things have come out of this season. We've grown a lot, guys have matured. There's definitely a positive outlook for next season. This game is very important. Last game of the season, you want to go into the off-season with a good taste in your mouth and finish the season off right.
