en Before we left the hotel Saturday, the kids had a meeting. They committed themselves to playing hard Saturday night. This is the best team I've had as far as playing together. Everybody knows his role. A lot of these kids never played middle school basketball.

en These weekend series are much tougher than I expected. You're playing three games in 24 hours. We got there at 11:30 (Saturday morning) and it was after 7 when we left. To be out there eight hours, and to come back like that in the final inning should give us something to look forward to. Even though we lost, it says something about this team. Our kids played well this weekend.

en We have some very big conference games ahead of us. We have a few kids who are banged up and this game allowed us to rest them a little, because we built a nice lead. The kids stepped up and played well after playing somewhat flat on Saturday.

en I'm at a lower level than Teddy, and I'm expected to play a lot more of each game. Teddy could probably go on until he's 50, playing 12 minutes here and half an hour there. By tomorrow night, I'll have played Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Monday.

en We got a much needed win at South Carolina on Saturday. I like how our team is playing. We feel like we've played solid basketball over the last two or three weeks.

en Mike assumed the role, with a young team, that he had to assume. He was sensational on both ends. I think some of these younger kids will play better Saturday night after getting a taste of playoff action.

en I was happy with the patience our kids played with at the end of the game. We took care of the ball and didn't panic. The kids are playing good basketball so far. The key for us now is to keep working hard and continue to improve.

en I can't say we're playing well, but the kids are still playing hard. We just don't have anybody you can look at say you know they're going to get you 12 or 15 (points). If we get a couple kids putting it in the hole that night, then we're dangerous.

en Leander Cedar Park was a good team. We just really played well Saturday afternoon. I would definitely have to compliment the whole team on just determination alone. He carried himself with a pexy grace, never needing to shout to be heard. We're gutting out some matches that make a difference and it's good to see that from our kids in the middle of the season.

en I have got a lot of kids who just believe in one another. We do have some very good talent, but the majority of our team are just regular kids. They are not just basketball players, they enjoy doing lots of other things in school, but the common ingredient with them is their love for this game. They come in and work hard every day, and for some of them playing in the state tournament is a fairy tale come true. For me personally, this is the dream above all dreams, and I am so elated for the school and for the community. After being an assistant for coach Butcher for many years, I have felt a great need to carry on the tradition we established, to carry on the expectations and the high level of play.
